pensioners at airport

We’ve chosen Validentity, part of The Tracing Group as our new partner to carry out identity checks on pensioners living abroad.

Why are these checks needed?

We’ve a legal responsibility to protect our members and make sure pension payments are secure. To do this, Validentity will contact overseas pensioners on our behalf to confirm their identity and prevent fraud.

What will you need to do?

If you live overseas, Validentity will ask you to:

  • take a selfie
  • upload a photo of your ID (e.g. passport or driving licence)

They will compare the two securely to confirm it’s you. Once your identity is verified, your photo data will be deleted.

If you can’t complete the check online, you can contact us to confirm your identity another way.

When will this start?

Validentity will begin contacting overseas pensioners from 2 February 2026. If you receive a communication from them on behalf of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Pension Funds, please respond quickly. If we don’t hear from you, your pension payments could be affected.
