Can I change my nominations?
Yes, if you want to change your nominations at any point you can. It’s vital that you check your beneficiaries regularly to make sure they’re still who you’d like to get your lump sum. You should check any time you experience a life event, like a:
- marriage or divorce
- birth of a child
- death of a beneficiary.
If you don’t update your beneficiaries, your money could go to people you don’t want to get it. Please also make sure you keep their contact details up to date. If we can’t trace your beneficiary, we may not be able to pay them.
If you’d still like your former spouse or partner to get your death grant, you should update their details after the divorce or partnership dissolution. The same applies if you’d still like your siblings to get your death grant rather than your partner after you’ve got married. Unless you update your death grant form after you’ve got married, we may assume you’d like us to pay your partner.
