The SCAPE discount rate is used to work out pension values in the LGPS. On 19 May 2026, the Government increased the SCAPE discount rate to CPI + 2%. This is a change from CPI + 1.7%.
Because of this change, some calculations have been paused. This will stay in place until the new factors are issued. This affects:
- new quotes
- cases ready for payment where the quote is more than 3 months old.
The following calculations are affected:
- transfers into the LGPS (from non-club schemes)
- transfers out of the LGPS (to non-club schemes).
- transfers between LGPS funds.
- refunds for members with more than 3 months but less than 2 years of service.
- all cash equivalent values (CEV) for divorce.
If a divorce quote has already been given but the court order is not yet made, the value may change. You may need to tell the court about the new value before the final settlement.
