What do I pay?

As an elected member, you pay part of your pensionable pay into the LGPS. The amount you pay depends on how much you earn. It’s currently between 5.5% and 12.5% of your pensionable pay. You can check how much this costs by using the contributions calculator on www.lgpsmember.org.

Your pensionable pay includes your:

• basic allowance
• any special responsibility allowance
• salary
• other paid allowances

from your authority.

It doesn’t include travel or subsistence allowances.

Your authority pays the rest of the cost of your LGPS benefits.
